Digital Retinal Imaging
We have recently invested in a KOWA Nonmydriatic
retinal camera. This instrument allows us to examine and record your eye
health in greater detail than before.
For most patients, imaging is very simple and only
involves a camera fl ash. Some patients with very small pupils may
require a mild drop to enlarge the pupil sufficiently for imaging.
Patients with a family history of glaucoma, diabetes
or macular degeneration will benefit from our ability to record and
compare the condition of their eyes over several years. We can also use
the KOWA camera to document other eye conditions such as pterygiums and
cataracts.
Imaging - who will benefit?
Digital Retinal Imaging is recommended for patients
with:
-
diabetes
-
macular degeneration
-
glaucoma
-
other retinal disorders
-
reduced vision
-
patients over 40 years of age
-
any unusual ocular findings
-
or anyone with a family history of the above.
Cost
Digital Retinal Imaging has been made possible by
advances in technology and is currently not covered by Medicare.* Your
consultation may be covered by Medicare, however if you choose to have
Digital Retinal Imaging included, there will be an additional
out-of-pocket charge. Our current charges are:

Frame Styles
Vivid jewel colours and temple details are the
features of the latest frame styles. Semi-rimless styles have overtaken
rimless completely, and rectangular full-rimmed styles are still
popular. The latest looks are shown at their best in ranges by Etnia
Barcelona, and Kenzo. |
